The way we respond to hard times defines our community. With the help of all our supporters, Good Cycles has increased access to entry-level jobs for young people.
Flexible and inclusive workplaces make it possible for young employees to engage in both work and further study. For people such as Omer, employment at Good Cycles serves to be an incubator rather than an obstacle in a young person’s pursuit of their career ambitions and aspirations.
Gaining employment and building experience is a rite of passage for young people. It has always posed challenges but some of these are now tougher than they were.
We recently took on a new trainee bicycle mechanic at one of our retail stores, Abi. This is the inside story of her career development as-it-happens at Good Cycles.

Good Cycles’ supported employees have been using photos to express themselves and reflect on their day to day experiences of work. Using digital platforms was already part of the job, but using the smartphone for creative expression to explore professional identity was something new.
