Good Cycles’ Commitment To Privacy
Good Cycles Limited (ACN 162 578 805) (“Good Cycles”, “we”, “our”) is committed to compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the “Privacy Act”) and to protecting the privacy of all Personal Information that it collects, uses, discloses and manages.
Good Cycles has adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act. The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your personal information. Purpose
This policy explains how we collect, use and disclose your personal information and how to access, correct or complain about the handling of your personal information.
What is personal information?
“Personal information” is defined in the Privacy Act to mean information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
What types of personal information do we collect?
Examples of personal information that Good Cycles may collect are individuals’ names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers.
How do we collect personal information?
Personal information is obtained in many ways including directly from you and from third parties. Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your personal information directly from you, by communications with you or via our website. However, in some circumstances, we may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.
Why do we collect personal information?
Good Cycles collects your personal information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you. Good Cycles may also collect personal information for the purposes of understanding clients’ needs, goals, marketing purposes, risk management and reporting to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Using personal information for marketing purposes
In addition to the purposes above, Good Cycles may also collect and use your personal information for marketing purposes, which may include providing you with information about offers, promotions, goods or services which we believe may be of interest to you. If we contact you by email for these purposes, you may unsubscribe from our email marketing lists at any time by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
Prospective employees or applicants
We collect personal information when recruiting personnel, such as an applicant’s name, contact details, qualifications and work history. Generally, we will collect this information directly from the applicant. We may also collect personal information from third parties – for example, from recruitment agencies or referees that are nominated by applicants. Before offering an applicant a position with Good Cycles, we may collect additional details such as tax file number and superannuation information and other information necessary to conduct background checks to determine suitability for the relevant position.
Your rights in relation to your personal information
Good Cycles recognises the essential right of individuals to have their Personal Information used and managed in a manner that reasonably protects their privacy on one hand, whilst maintaining their personal information access rights on the other. These privacy values are reflected in, and supported by, our core values and philosophies. Good Cycles is bound by laws which impose specific obligations when it comes to handling information. The organisation has adopted the following principles contained as minimum standards in relation to handling Personal Information under the APPs.
Good Cycles will:
- Collect only information which the organisation requires for its primary function;
- Ensure that individuals are informed as to why we collect their Personal Information and how we use and manage that Personal Information (including mandatory reporting and the circumstances in which Personal Information must be provided by law);
- Use and disclose Personal Information only for our primary functions or a directly related purpose, or for another purpose with the person’s consent;
- Store Personal Information securely, protecting it from unauthorised access; and
- Provide individuals with access to their own Personal Information, and the right to seek its correction.
Access to your personal information
You may access the personal information we hold about you and to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your personal information, please contact us in writing. In order to protect your personal information, we may require identification from you before releasing the requested information.
Maintaining the quality of your personal information
It is important to us that your personal information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your personal information is accurate and complete. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.
Disclosure of personal information

Processing Payments
We accept payments through Stripe and PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be collected by Stripe or PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information. Such collection of your personal information is subject to the applicable PayPal Privacy Policy or Stripe Privacy Policy and is not governed by this policy.
Security of Personal Information
We strive to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personal information we collect. We have established safeguards and use reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
Our employees, contractors, agents and service providers who provide services related to our information systems, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by us. We review and update our security measures in light of current technologies.
Personal Information Retention
When your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information. However, most of the personal information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.
Complaints Resolution
Good Cycles is committed to providing our stakeholders with a fair and responsible system for the handling of complaints. If you are not satisfied with our response to your complaint, or you consider that Good Cycles may have breached the APPs or the Privacy Act, a complaint may be made to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). How changes are made to this Privacy Policy?
