Mike is originally from New Zealand and grew up riding mountain bikes around Christchurch. He moved to Melbourne in 2011 and has been a part of Good Cycles since 2015. Before joining the cycling industry, Mike worked as a Research Assistant in the Biology Department at La Trobe University and as a field researcher in native forests across New Zealand.
He is a keen mountain biker – especially enjoying multi-day bikepacking trips – and bike tourer, having toured New Zealand, Japan and Europe. He also doesn’t own a car, preferring to use his bike as his main transportation.
Mike enjoys the job satisfaction from repairing bikes daily and helping set people up for practical commuting and longer trips. His relaxed attitude makes our Good Cycles program participants feel at ease in the workshop.
