We were recently thrilled to be awarded the Philanthropy 500 grant through the Geelong Community Foundation and the P500 donors.
Philanthropy 500 is an inspiring giving program which connects communities in the Geelong region, helps people get involved in philanthropy and produces real impact. This grant, alongside the very generous support of the Bank of Melbourne Foundation, will fund our new community bike store and program space opening in Geelong in January. Launch events to be announced soon – watch this space!
The store will specialise in second-hand bike sales and servicing, and through our co-located program space we aim to work with 30 young people from Geelong in 2019. We will be partnering with local community organisations including Youth Justice, Whitelion, Creative Geelong, Batforce and the Gordon.
Want to help out?
If you’re keen to give back to your community, we’re on the lookout for a volunteer bike mechanic to help with servicing and sales in the store. If you’re interested, you can find the position description here or email Michael at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also need bike donations! If you have a donation you can drop them off at Shops 4 & 5, 132 Lt Malop St, Geelong every Wednesday 10am–4pm. Out-of-hours donations can be arranged. If you’d like further details, please get in touch.
